Butts Canyon Trail (465)

The Butts Canyon Trail (465) starts at the 1.4 mile mark of Arch Canyon Trail (002). To get here, you'll have already passed two of the three arches along Arch Canyon. As such, you won't miss much by skipping the final section of the Arch Canyon Trail (002). Veering onto the Butts Canyon Trail (465) can make for a fun little diversion.

From the intersection with the Arch Canyon Trail (002), you'll soon leave the ponderosa pines behind as you travel up the canyon floor. This trail is infrequently maintained and quite faint. You'll spend a lot of time crossing over and hiking through the perennial stream. Make sure to bring appropriate footwear and plan on getting wet.

The trail continues for .8 miles beneath striped canyon walls to end at a 100-yard section of stream bed formed by slickrock.
