Whether you walk, jog, bike, horseback ride, stargaze, or meditate, the Bluff River Trail will awaken your senses, and connect you to this unique landscape, with its vistas, towering bluffs, remnants of ranches and farms, and of course the steady, calming San Juan River.
The non-motorized trail covers nearly 10 miles from Sand Island Recreation Area down to the river plain and then up-river through country that has been crisscrossed over millennia by Indigenous people, descendants of Mormon pioneers, and present-day settlers who have made their living as river runners, tour guides, farmers, ranchers, and small business owners.
