5th Annual Moccasin 5K Run/Walk for Foster Care Awareness

Join us on Saturday, May 11, 2024 for the 5th Annual Moccasin 5K Run/Walk in White Mesa, Utah.

Unable to make it to White Mesa? Register for a VIRTUAL ticket to support our efforts to find Native Homes for Native Children.

In 2019, the first Moccasin 5K Run/Walk was held to bring awareness of the shortage of Native American foster parents in tribal communities and across the state of Utah.

Today, we continue to bring awareness for the need of Native American foster parents for our Native children. When Native children remain in the Native community they stay connected to their culture and maintain knowledge of their history, language, customs, and identity.

Monetary donations will benefit the Cedar Project, whose goal is to ensure that Native American children in care stay culturally connected by providing culturally relevant activity kits to children in care. Thank you in advance for your donation to this important program.

This year, there will be a virtual run option to allow more people to participate and increase awareness and the importance of foster care in our Native communities. Run or walk a 5K route in your neighborhood, on a favorite trail, or around a local track to raise awareness for the need for foster parents. Moccasins are optional.

This event is free for all to participate.

Free t-shirts to the first 150 in-person registered participants.
